Drone industry on approach for Kansas expansion
KANSAS — According to a number of industry leaders, the unmanned aerial vehicle industry is ready to take off in Kansas. That growth could create more than 3,700 jobs in the Sunflower State in the next ten years.
Kansas is attractive to the drone industry due to its existing framework of aviation manufacturing and agriculture technology. In addition, Kansas universities have already received $1.4 million in federal grants for drone research and Kansas State University recently opened one of the largest enclosed flight facilities for unmanned aircraft in the country near Manhattan.
