Industrial welding training now available at Highland Community College
HIGHLAND, Kan. — With economic and workforce development assistance from the Workforce AID (Aligned with Industry Demand) initiative, Highland Community College (HCCTC) is now offering an industrial welding training program in Highland. The Industrial Welding Job Skills Training Program is being offered in cooperation with the Kansas Department of Commerce and Summit Truck Bodies.
HCCTC will deliver training that incorporates hands-on experience in the welding shop, including various components of machine technology. The training curriculum was developed under the guidance of Summit Truck Bodies, and graduates are prepared for entry-level welding positions with the company. Participants will have an opportunity to earn a credential from the American Welding Society, in addition to five college credits upon successful completion of the program.
